I see the Light of the World…
…through the lives of our Khmer staff at Church of Christ Our Peace, Phnom Penh. As we enter into 2025, I am looking at ways to serve the Khmer leaders more and I was able to meet with several of the leaders to look at 2025 and understand how to best serve them. As they shared their plan with me, one thing they said they needed the most help with was their continuing growth in knowing God’s Word and how to study it and apply it to their lives. They do not have access to as many resources as we do in English and they shared that someone who can help them learn from our abundance of resources would be helpful to them as they seek to lead other Cambodians in the church and dorm ministries.
I am so encouraged to see their hearts desire to grow deeper in their understanding of God’s Word, but even more so in constantly remembering that we all are united in following Christ no matter what culture or country we come from.
In this Advent season, I am reminded that the light of Christ is like a flame that he puts in our hearts, and the deeper we grow in faith together, the brighter that light shines within us. What a great blessing it is that no matter what background we have, we can all find a home in Christ.
