Ben and Cherie Weber, SAMS Missionaries to Rwanda
We see the Light of the World…
…through the Christians here in Rwanda, especially the pastors. The people here in Gahini are in a daily struggle to survive. This year has been very hard for many of them as we hard a longer than normal dry season. Their crops were not as good and many of them have gone hungry.
However, when they come to church, they sing and they dance with so much JOY! They are so grateful for what they do have and they have great FAITH that God will provide for them. Their HOPE rests in the risen savior. Just a few weeks ago in church, one of the choirs acted out the resurrection of Jesus. The congregation got so excited and joined the choir in worship.
Unfortunately, most of the churches in Rwanda have been closed since the end of July. Even as we worship with our brothers and sisters every Sunday, our hearts ache for our Anglican brothers and sisters who are not allowed to gather together and who are too far away from an open church.
When someone tells them of a hardship, they say “Wihangane,” which translated means “be patient.” When they say it, they mean be patient, God will answer. May we all be patient in the difficulties that life throws at us, put our HOPE in Jesus, have FAITH in His provision, and find JOY during this holiday season!
