GO AS A LONG-TERM MISSIONARY
Are you being called into all the world? Has the Lord given you a heart to serve Him through cross-cultural global ministry? SAMS would love to talk with you! SAMS offers long-term mission opportunities ranging from a year to a career. SAMS will walk alongside you and your home church in the missionary call discernment process. Following the review of your application, a 3-day mutual discernment conference held in Ambridge, PA, will go more in depth with your calling and also help you prepare to grow a team of senders who will come alongside you financially, spiritually, and practically.
When the call is determined, a person becomes a missionary candidate and begins training in earnest. Early on, the SAMS staff provides training and coaching in biblically-based support raising. Missionary candidates also give extensive time to reading about current issues in missions, cross-cultural adaptation and researching the new culture they will be living in. Later, SAMS typically will send missionary candidates for pre-field cross-cultural training. After arriving in their country of service, most missionaries require several months of language learning and further cross-cultural training.
