World Mission Sunday

February 5 or 12, 2023

A special time for Anglican churches to refocus on the work God is doing around the world drawing people to Himself.

Here is a list of resources from SAMS and our partners for your church to use on World Mission Sunday, which can be observed February 5, February 12, or any Sunday in Epiphany. Start getting ready now!

  1. Prayer bookmarks: Sign up at this link and we can send you prayer bookmarks to distribute to your church family. These are available on a first come, first served basis.
  2. Liturgical Resources for use in your church services or small groups:
    1. Prayers of the People for World Missions Sunday: Incorporate this into your Sunday liturgy.
    2. Kenyan Prayer for Missions: Incorporate this liturgy from Kenya into your service of Holy Eucharist.

      service!
    2. Invite parishioners and clergy to sign up for our Missionary Discernment Journaling Resource at this form. Written by Bishop Todd McGregor and other contributors, this journaling resource helps those discerning a call from God to slow down and pray through crucial issues for discernment.

    Long-Term Missionary

    Has the Lord given you a heart to serve Him through cross-cultural ministry? Serving with SAMS could be God’s answer to that prayer. Do you have questions about becoming a long-term missionary?

    Missionary Bridger

    A SAMS Bridgers serves from one month to one year and is partnered with a long-term SAMS missionary who serves as a mentor. The Bridger applicant must be age 18 or older (up to age 88!) and must have completed high school or the equivalent at least one year before starting the program.

    Short-Term Teams

    SAMS’ short-term teams work with our long-term missionaries in assignments that last from one to two weeks, depending on the project requirements. SAMS offers team leader training to equip people who feel the call to led teams into the mission field.
