Call
For several years Susan has felt a strong call to serve God in some area of missions. Since her home church already had a ministry relationship with the Church of Uganda she was drawn to potential service there. Additionally, during a trip to Israel a number of years ago, Susan met the Rev. Canon Dr. Alison Barfoot, a participant of the same study tour, who later became Archbishop Orombi’s Assistant for International Relations in Uganda.
After a time of prayer, godly counsel, seeking the Lord’s direction, and a talk with Canon Barfoot, Susan had an opportunity to travel to Uganda to discern God’s call on her life in missions. Her prayer during this trip was that the Lord would give her a very clear “yes” or “no” as to whether this was where he was calling her to serve. Susan’s prayer was answered and she is overjoyed at this opportunity to serve God and His Kingdom with the Church of Uganda
Prayer Challenges
Please pray for God’s abundant provision as Susan begins the process of raising support and selling her belongings. Pray also that she is able to effectively balance her time in a very demanding job along with her preparations for going to Uganda.
Susan has also been experiencing an increase in spiritual attack. Please pray for her protection and covering with the full armor of God, and the knowledge that the victory has already been won. And please join Susan in praising God for his encouraging words to her in Psalm 37:4-9.
