Candidate - Lima, Peru
Ministry
Colleen has been serving as a SAMS/Five Talents International missionary in Lima, Perú, since July 2009. She has been invited by the Diocese of Perú to work with their micro-enterprise ministries and ministry partners. Colleen is ministering with an ecumenical Christian financial services non-profit (ECLOF-Perú) that reaches out to the poor in Ayacucho, Huancavelica, Juliaca, Lima and Puno. Colleen is using her background and training to implement new programs that provide Biblical training in savings and business development and to develop new non-financial products to serve ECLOF-Perú´s clients.
Five Talents International supports indigenous peoples by providing innovative savings and microcredit programs, business training and spiritual development. Named after the parable of the five talents, FTI assists people in reaching self-sufficiency by providing microloans which have benefited the lives of more than 180,000 entrepreneurs and their families.

Calling
Colleen believes deeply in poverty alleviation and economic development via entrepreneurship. Prior to moving to Lima, spent eight years at the Atlas Economic Research Foundation where she worked to promote market-based solutions to poverty alleviation and economic growth by providing management training, financial resources, and contacts to think tank leaders around the world. Colleen is thrilled to have the opportunity to work on micro-enterprise projects in Peru and to be able to share the gospel while helping the poor build better futures- economically and spiritually.
Prayer
Colleen is entering into her second year in Perú. She needs prayers for financial support, deepening of relationships with co-workers and other believers, wisdom and Spanish fluency for her ECLOF Perú projects, as well as for good health and safety as she travels around Perú.
