Goliath was threatening the children of Israel.  David was going face to face in battle with the giant.  First, he went to the creek and collected five smooth stones and placed them in his shepherd’s pouch. When he stood in front of Goliath, he was armed with his sling.  He removed a stone from his pouch and hurled the stone at Goliath.  By the grace of God, the stone hit its target and Goliath was defeated. David was prepared for the battle.

How many stones have you collected? Are you prepared? It seems as though a day has not gone by since the devastating storm on June 29th that we have not been under a severe storm watch or warning. God grant us the wisdom to prepare for the Goliath that may appear suddenly. It is not a matter of “if?” but “when”. Most important, let us be ready to share the hope we have thru Jesus Christ our Lord.
